LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
White Water Rafting
The world-class Menominee River is within 25 minutes of Northland, and it provides the whitewater enthusiast with some of the largest volume rapids in the Midwest. These rapids are very similar to those found on more famous whitewater runs.
Golf
The beauty of the Wisconsin Northwoods might be best seen in the variety of area golf courses and their diverse scenery. Over a dozen quality golf courses are located within an hour's drive of Northland, making this a perfect location for your next golf outing.
Water Falls
Northland is located in Marinette County, “The Waterfalls Capital of Wisconsin.” We are located near the 12 waterfalls of our county, with distances ranging from 2.6 miles to 60 miles from our campus.
Snowmobiling
Not only is Marinette County known for our waterfalls, but also for over 600 miles of snowmobile trails that are groomed every winter. The trails are well maintained and clearly marked for snowmobilers. Each year, the trails open on December 15 (snow permitting).
Fishing
Marinette County waters include a diverse fish population, offering something for every angler. Muskie, northern pike, walleye, bass, perch, bluegill, crappie, sturgeon, salmon, and trout are found in nearby waters.
With over 614 miles of trout streams and rivers, two large flowages, Lake Noquebay, the waters of Green Bay, and hundreds of inland lakes, you will never be without an area to relax and cast your line.

Hunting
The first thing hunters associate with Marinette County is whitetail deer, and with good reason. Marinette County has one of the largest whitetail deer populations in North America. Every year, hunters come out of the woods with trophy-sized bucks. There are both bow hunting and gun seasons in this area.
Spring turkey hunting is also getting to be a very big sport in the central portion of the county. Pheasants are found in the agricultural southern third of the county, and black bear hunting is becoming more popular all the time.
